I’m married with two adult children and four young grandchildren. My law practice initially general, coalesced over the years to almost exclusively family law. I have much experience representing parties and mediating issues including parenting, child support and property division. I authored the Washington State Bar Association Family Law Desk Book chapter on custodial interference and the updates thereto. I also have experience working with domestic violent issues and many other legal problems around couple relationships.

I always tried to find ways to keep the cost down and minimize the trauma and damage to people resolving family law matters, I’ve grow over the years to be more and more a proponent of various forms of mediation, including Collaborative Law and Collaborative Practice. I now provide representation for individuals and mediation services for individuals and couples seeking to resolve family issues in the most positive way possible. My clients commit to resolving their family legal problems, including divorce, parenting, child support, non-marital separation, property/debt division and other related issues, without resorting to third parties, like courts, making decisions for them. Collaborative Law, different models of mediation and other non-litigious problem solving (I love to get creative.) are most of what I do.

I volunteer as a King County Bar Ass’n. family law mentor, a settlement conference master in the King County Superior Court Volunteer Settlement Conference Program and other speaking and mentoring activities. I am a former member of the WSBA Family Law Section Executive Committee. I am presently President and member of the Board of King County Collaborative Law. I work with several other King County Collaborative Law professionals to offer a free one hour legal process meeting for couples looking for information about processing the legal issues involved in their divorce or other family issue. Contact me for details.

Besides my family and professional life my interests include being active in my church, golfing and umpiring Little League baseball.
